i letter writing carry 4 marks 

ii article writing carry 6 marks

Section C contains Grammer section contains three question

i grammer carrying 5 marks 

ii Changing of sentences 6 marks

ii translation carrying 4 marks

Section D contains two question

i short answer questions 16 questions carrying 1 marks

ii long answers questions containing 8 questions 3 Marks

ii all questions of each sections are compulsory. 

                 Section A — Reading

1.Read the passage carefully and answer the questions that follow: both the questions are compulsory.

When I was 20 years old I had my first long trip with an older friend. I visited the South island of New Zealand . one of our plans was to spend two days at a famous tourist resort T ” The Hermitage ” right  in the heart of the giant peaks of Southern Alps.

we had a magnificent drive through the mountains and arrived at  the hermitage in the early afternoon.  it was a perfect day and the great peaks around seemed to tower over our heads . I look on them with a growing feeling of excitement— the great rock walls, the hanging glaciers and the avalanche strewn slopes.  And then strangely stirred by it all I felt restless for action and decided to go for a walk . I set of towards the sealy range, which I could see high up, behind the hotel.i soon realised it was much farther then I had judged .But  for some reason I came to going on and soon with astonishing sense of achievement I climb back down the long slopes to the hermitage . That evening as I set in the lounge I felt restless and excited and then hum of voices suddenly hushed, and I looked up to see two young man coming into the rooms . They were fit and tanned, they had an unmistakable air of competence about them. I could hear a whisper going around the room. They have just claim Mount cook . and soon they were the centre of admiring group. It was not until some years later that I found out there were Stevenson and Dick.  a famous climbing partnership and they had just completed the first grand traverse of mount cook from north to south.
